It's a good thing. Thank you so much. It is such a pleasure and an honor to be here with so many fabulous, fabulous women. And you all brothers are okay, too — the men — men are good, men are good. (Laughter.) I want to start by thanking Mattie for that very kind introduction. But, more importantly, she and Michael have — they have been with us from the way beginning; the "Barack Obama Who?" beginning; the Barack — what? You want me to write a check for that guy? (Laughter.) They were there from the very start, and they have not just been supporters but they have been friends, they have been our encouragers, they have been the handful of people who kind of keep us grounded in ways that I don't think they even really understand. So I want to take this time to just give them a shoutout of love, because they are just amazing people. Thank you. Thank you, guys. Thank you for opening up your home. (Applause.) I've been in L.A.

Release Time: For Immediate Release MEMORANDUM FOR THE SECRETARY OF STATE SUBJECT: Delegation of Authority in Accordance with Sections 610 and 652 of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended and Section 7009(d) of the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2010, as carried forward by the Department of Defense and Full-Year Continuing Appropriations Act, 2011 By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including section 610 of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended,(FAA) and section 301 of title 3 of the United States Code, I hereby delegate to you the authority, subject to the below condition, to transfer $12 million in the FY 2011 Nonproliferation, Antiterrorism, Demining, and Related Programs account to the Economic Support Funds account for programs to counter violent extremism. Prior to exercising this authority, I hereby delegate to you the authority to fulfill the requirements of section 652 of the FAA and section 7009(d) of the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2010 (Division F, Public Law 111-117), as carried forward by the Department of Defense and Full-Year Continuing Appropriations Act, 2011 (Division B, Public Law 112-10). Although I always say, when we stay here for the night, I’ve got to watch my staff to make sure that they get on the plane when we leave. (Laughter.) Sometimes they conveniently miss the flight. (Laughter.) But everybody please have a seat, have a seat. It is great to see you. Joe, thanks for the introduction. Scott, thank you and the folks at UPS for hosting us today. I want to thank all of the elected officials and the tribal leaders who took the time to join us. Before I get into the core of my remarks, I just want to mention something that I said to Scott and I said to Joe, and that is that UPS I think deserves just extraordinary credit for being the best in its space, one of the best businesses we have in the United States. But the reason is because it’s got such outstanding workers — (applause) — and the relationship between its workforce and management, cooperating, constantly figuring out how to make things better is just an outstanding organization. And so you guys all need to be congratulated for everything that you do. (Applause.) Now, I’m here to talk a little more about what I talked about at the State of the Union on Tuesday night. And what I want to focus on is how we’re going to restore the basic promise of America, something that folks at UPS understand, which is, if you work hard, if you do the right thing, you should be able to do well enough to raise a family and own a home and send your kids to college and put a little away for retirement.
